Before graduating high school, Eveline Kay changed schools 9 different times, living in both Canada and the US. Starting to play music early in life, she competed in piano competitions against others her age. Played clarinet in Simcoe Country Band Barrie.
Eveline Kay has always believed music isn’t a competition, but rather, a way for people to come together in creation of art – which is exactly what her learning objectives will be today at Barrie Music Lessons. Music, song, and dance will combine together before you in the spirit of shared talents. The talent you hear in Eveline Kay’s music never ceases to be itself. In the past, Eveline Kay faced the many pressures of being a woman in the music industry which changed her– her name, her appearance, her personality. But like her favourite musical artists Joan Jett and Debbie Harry, Eveline Kay stands strong as an independent female musician, wanting to maintain control over her image and her music.
